I am Jewish and that makes Christmas a bit tricky. One Christmas Eve I took a walk through my neighborhood and looked with some envy at the homes all lit up, families gathered, and gifts being opened. Now I know these are not all Hallmark moments, but it’s a feeling of missing out. It was a clear and crisp night, and I looked up and saw one bright star in the night sky. I stood there in the quiet and had this moment of grace. I saw very clearly that no matter our faith or traditions, we all share the same sky, the same stars, the same light that shines in the darkness.
